Our office in Nob Hill

Root66 Software was started in 2014 by two developers who had spent the previous decade working for larger consulting firms and wanted to build software for the businesses in their own city. The name comes from the stretch of old Route 66 that runs through Albuquerque as Central Avenue, a few blocks from our office in Nob Hill.

Today we are a team of six: four engineers, a designer, and a project manager. We keep the team small on purpose. Every client works directly with the people building their software, and we take on a limited number of projects at a time so each one gets real attention.

Most of our work is for companies in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and West Texas, though we have clients as far away as Oregon and Florida who found us through referrals.

How we work

1. Discovery

A short paid engagement, usually two weeks, where we learn your business, document requirements, and produce a fixed-price proposal with milestones.

2. Build

Two-week sprints with a demo at the end of each one. You see working software early and often, and you can change direction before it gets expensive.

3. Launch and support

We handle deployment, training, and documentation. After launch, a monthly maintenance plan keeps the system patched and supported.

Community

We sponsor the Albuquerque JavaScript meetup, mentor students through the UNM computer science department's internship program, and donate development time each year to one local nonprofit.
